DM Mid West Web Development ("I", "me", "my") is operated by Steven McNamara, a web developer based in Limerick, Ireland. This policy applies to dmmidwest.ie (the "Site") and explains how I collect, use and protect information when you visit it.
I try to collect as little personal data as possible, and I never sell your data to anyone.
Information I Collect
Contact form. If you submit the contact form, I collect the name, email address and message you provide. This is sent to my inbox through FormSubmit.co, a third-party form processing service, so that I can reply to your enquiry.
Analytics. If you accept the cookie banner, I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and general device, browser and approximate location information. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
I do not run any advertising, and the Site does not process payments or store card details anywhere.
Cookies
The Site uses a small number of cookies:
- Strictly necessary: a cookie that remembers your cookie consent choice, and one that remembers a light/dark theme preference. These are set automatically and don't require consent, as the Site can't function properly without them.
- Analytics (optional): Google Analytics cookies, set only if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can decline these, or change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's cookies for this Site and reloading the page.

Third Parties I Use
Certain parts of the Site rely on third-party services, each of which processes limited data under its own privacy policy:
- FormSubmit.co — delivers contact form submissions to my email inbox.
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) — site usage analytics, only after consent.
- Firebase Hosting (Google) — hosts and serves the Site over HTTPS.
- Google Fonts — loads the Site's typefaces from Google's font CDN.
How I Use Your Data
I use the information above to: respond to enquiries sent through the contact form; understand how the Site is used so I can improve it; and keep the Site secure and working reliably. I do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
Data Retention
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting business relationship, then deleted periodically. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Ask me to correct inaccurate data
- Ask me to delete your data
- Object to or restrict how your data is processed
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw analytics consent at any time

Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for business owners and adults, and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

I may update this policy from time to time, for example as the Site or the tools it uses change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
